In June 2018, students at Davison High School, Worthing were happy to welcome a group of Spanish students from IES Fuente de la Peña High School and José Nogué Escuela de Arte in Jaén, southern Spain for a week’s visit.

After a day travelling and a flight from Madrid the group received a warm welcome from their host families and made their way to their host homes and a welcoming evening meal.

The next day the Spanish group enjoyed a morning’s Scavenger Hunt in Worthing Town before re-joining their Davison hosts and penpals for some fun bilingual activities at school in the afternoon.

On Thursday, the Spanish students travelled up to London for sightseeing taking in Buckingham Palace, Westminster and a river cruise along the Thames.

Friday saw the Spanish and English groups meeting up for more bilingual activities followed by an outing to Lewes for the Spanish group and a tour around the beautiful town and castle.

On Saturday, both the Spanish students and their teachers and the Davison Junior Euro Reps enjoyed a day in London – this time taking in the British Museum, Regents Park and plenty of shopping at Camden Market.

After a Sunday spent with their host families, the groups met up again in the morning for more bilingual activities after which the Spanish group headed off to enjoy an afternoon in Brighton before setting off back to Worthing for a great fun final night with their English friends at the Worthing Bowling Alley.

In the morning, the Spanish group waved goodbye to their Davison friends but with a promise to come back next year!
